Civic Engagement in Colorado

Community Resource Center (CRC) believes that civic engagement is a critical component of empowering our nonprofit partners to identify and address community needs. We work to build the capacity of nonprofits and community groups to strengthen their civic engagement efforts and advance community-centered policy. These efforts are always nonpartisan, and we hold nonpartisanship as a core value of our work.

CRC has been supporting nonprofits to integrate voter engagement and community-centered policy for over 10 years. In partnership with direct service nonprofits and policy groups, CRC has created permanent infrastructure for year-round convenings and connection to local, state and national civic engagement resources. CRC actively provides nonprofits with ongoing training and relationship building with policy groups that are needed to move their advocacy work forward.

For more than 16 years, CRC has supported nonprofits in integrating voter engagement and community-centered policy work. Through civic engagement programs such as the Root Causes Network, CRC partners with direct service nonprofits and policy organizations to build lasting infrastructure for year-round convenings and connections to local, state, and national civic engagement resources.

Root Causes Network

CRC creates formal and ongoing spaces that break down silos and facilitate relationship building between nonprofits and policy/organizing groups that strengthen civic engagement efforts and advance community-centered policy.

CRC also connects nonprofits with statewide resources, provides tailored training opportunities and builds nonprofit capacity to offer voter registration and nonpartisan ballot education to directly reach traditionally disenfranchised populations. Communities gain a powerful voice in the policy decisions that affect them when the nonprofit sector is empowered and trained to fully exercise its political power and influence. The individual power of people combined with the collective power of the sector helps create healthy and just communities for all.
